Yes, of course we will!  You don’t need to pay for hours that you don’t need.

What if I only need help for a night or two?

My family is going on vacation, and we can’t care for my loved one on our own. Do you ever provide caretakers who travel with families?
Yes we do. In fact, we recently provided a companion for a family who went on a cruise together. It was a great experience for all.

Medical vs. Non-Medical Care

 

I’m not looking for medical care. Why do I need a Nurse supervising the care you offer?
This is an extra layer of support we provide so that you have access to a professional nurse who is familiar with your loved one 24/7. We provide it at no extra charge to you as a way to provide you even more peace of mind that you’re loved one is in very good hands with us.

My loved one isn’t sick. He/she just needs a little help around the house and driving to and from places. Is this something that you can provide?

My parent/loved one/friend has a lot of medications to administer. Is this something you can handle for us?
Absolutely. We provide a Registered Nurse to oversee and manage every case we support, and that includes medication supervision and administration. Read More

You mentioned a customized care plan directed by a Nurse. Do I get to review the care plans? How often are they updated?
Yes. You, your other family members, and support network are involved in developing your loved one’s care plan with our nurse.  We always discuss the care plan tasks with you before we begin caretaking, and we update them as they’re needed, based on your loved one’s health and well-being. My loved one is in physical therapy. Is this something that your caretakers can help with – or transport my loved one to and from?
Yes. We can provide transportation to and from sessions; and, at the direction of our RNs, our caretakers can also provide some physical therapy and exercise support.  Read More

Financials, Payments and Insurance

 

How much do you charge for your services?
With a few simple questions, we can give you a range of cost and a good idea of what you need to budget.  We also provide a care assessment at no charge to you – whether you decide to do business with us or not.

After we develop your customized care plan during our care assessment, we can provide you an exact rate per hour, day, week, month and year, and the rate we quote at your care assessment does not change.  It’s the same for weekends or nights.  It’s the same for a couple or just one person in a household.  Click here to connect with a customer care representative.

Who pays the caretaker, Professional Caretakers or me?
Your caretaker is employed directly by Professional Caretakers, which means we handle all the billing, payroll, taxes, insurance and administrative responsibilities so you don’t have to worry about it.

Can I file your services on my insurance?
Most of the major insurance providers cover us, and we provide a free initial insurance assessment and ongoing filing for you if needed. Read More

We work with all major long-term care insurance providers. Read More

Does Medicare cover your services?
While we can help you ensure that Medicare covers needed supplies (like hospital beds, chair lifts, etc.), Medicare does not cover long term care services. That’s what we do!

Since Medicare doesn’t cover long term care, with Professional Caretakers, you are in charge.  You determine the start and end time, how often we visit, and what you want done! You can keep the same caretaker for weeks, months or years on end if you like. Because you are in charge, we’re able to provide a level of service that goes way beyond Medicare services.

Our Staff

 

How do you select your staff? How do you screen them?
We perform personality tests to make sure all of our caretakers are true nurturers, that want to please their clients.  But we don’t stop there.  We screen all staff members with comprehensive FINGERPRINT background checks; including job references, personal references, criminal and driving checks and drug tests, and verify all medical and accreditation credentials. How do you make sure you have the right caretaker looking after my loved one?
We’re one of only a handful of home care agencies in the state that’s Caregiver Quality Assurance certified. This is because of our level of service and because we leverage personality tests to help match clients and caregivers.

Will I have the same caretaker all of the time?
Yes, this is the most important component of your care plan. Because of our personality testing, we can match the right caretaker to your interest or the interests of your loved one. They will bond and be a great long-term match.

What if we want to change caretakers after you assign us one?
You can change caretakers anytime you choose to. All it takes is a phone call.

What if my caretaker is sick or on vacation?
We make sure that you always have a caretaker there for you. We have more than 100 team members, and we can make sure there is another caretaker to fill in.  If they have a flat tire, we’ll pay for and get them a taxi cab!
