Request A Caretaker

About 40 percent of people in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society.  Early detection and new tests have increased survival rates, leading to shorter hospital stays. This allows many people to continue treatment at home, where they can be with friends and family in a familiar and comfortable environment as they continue to fight or recover from a cancer diagnosis.

For those who are living with it, cancer is a hard and stressful disease, and so are the treatments that can come along with it. Our caregivers are trained to provide support that can ease your loved one’s day-to-day, whether he or she is dealing with radiation, chemotherapy, prescription-based treatment or any combination of them. This includes:

  • Helping with nausea and digestive issues.
  • Encouraging him or her to eat with their favorite foods.
  • Helping with bathing, fall prevention and mobility when needed.
  • Providing light housekeeping, errands and chores around the house.
  • Providing transportation to doctor’s appointments, treatments, etc.
  • Providing support for depression and anxiety, as directed by our RN.

Home Care For Cancer Patients

Whatever needs your loved one has, we work with you, your loved one and their doctor to develop a personal care plan that helps your loved one feel as comfortable and independent as possible. We not only focus on physical care such as helping with activities of daily living, transportation to doctor’s appointments, or preparing favorite meals, but emotional support as well. Our caregivers work under the supervision of a trained RN who can give advice on helping patients who may be experiencing anxiety or depression during this difficult time.

Whether it’s providing in-home cancer care and support for your loved one, providing respite for you as a caregiver, or both, we have the experience and personal touch your loved needs during such a challenging time. If you need a little help, give us a call and we can tell you about the wide variety of in-home care services we offer. It’s all about being there for you and your loved one when you can’t do it all.
